In 1700 the Orangery was described as the greenhouse because it was here that the orange and bay trees were kept during the winter months. The original statues from the Privy Garden, probably by Pietro Francavilla, are now displayed here while the copies are in the garden. The statues are Apollo and Marsyas, Ceres, Vulcan, Bacchus, and Apollo, gazing at the Sun. A series of heads of philosophers by Hubert Le Sueur decorate the south wall. The floor is paved with Swedish limestone.47071837 N02 has added The Orangery Hampton Court Palace at 2012 08 09 13 03 33 and tagged as hampton court palace
