Dekel Theater

In the center of Bavli neighborhood there is a very small shopping center about 6 shops, 2 cafes and a bank . Above all these rests dormant an abandoned movie theater. It s called Dekel and it was closed down in 1996 due to pressure from the neighboring tenants WHATY . I study film and whenever I hear about little theaters closing down I get filled with sadness. I broke in to Dekel Theater with a couple of friends to get an inside look at what I ve missed. I ve never been in it during it s active years after all I was only nine when it shut down but still I felt like I belong somehow. Inside it was pitch black. I had to use several flashlights to see what was going on. To light this shot I exposed for 7 seconds, held my SB 900 flash by hand and pressed the test flash button a few times during the exposure.84282800 N07 has added Dekel Theater at 2010 11 17 02 04 02 and tagged as theater cinema
