Diorama

berlin reichstag canon germany streets of soviet army total immersion diorama soviets rubble sound effects helmets brandenburg painting russia

This building featured a 180A diorama, 36m long and 7m high, showing the Siege of the Berlin Reichstag by the Soviet Army in 1945 , with light and sound effects. Rubble, broken helmets and other objects found in the streets of Berlin when the War ended were disposed on the floor in front of the painting to give the visitor a total immersion. As the Soviets retired, they offered the diorama for sale to the land of Brandenburg for 100 000DM. As the land declined the offer, the diorama was dismantled and taken to Zhukow, Russia, where it is still exposed today.7735965 N04 has added Diorama at 2012 07 22 12 15 08 and tagged as canon germany
